Recently there has been an introduction of new rules after the new government has come into power.
One such special rule is the deduction of salary of state government employees on the days of strike.
Though the new rule has a positive aspect as it wants Bengals employers to break the bad habit of taking strikes as an official holiday yet there are some negative aspects of that too.
First of all most people dont support strike yet they are unable to attend school because of blockage of transport system made by the members of strike calling party. Second reason is that many employers might have other important pesonal works like visiting a doctor, marriage ceremony of a family member , etc for which they would have take leave for that day, but due to the new rule they should not be absent from their office on that day. Or they will be showcaused .
Responding to a Showcause would not be a problem for employers but that it feels humiliating
and also as an obstruction to inviduals " right to freedom " as stated in the constitution.
I would request the employers of state government of West Bengal to post your opinion regarding this.
